The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By oath of the heaven which contains the constellations. 1 by the promised day, 2 And the bearer of witness and those against whom the witness is borne. 3 slain were the Men of the Pit, 4 Of the fuel-fed fire, 5 When they were sitting at its edge. 6 fully conscious of what they are doing to the believers, 7 And they persecuted them for naught save that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Praiseworthy 8 To whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. And Allah, over all things, is Witness. 9 Those who persecuted the believing men and women and never repented, there is for them the punishment of Gehenna (Hell), and for them the punishment of the burning. 10 But those who believe and do good deeds shall be rewarded with gardens watered by flowing rivers. That is the supreme triumph. 11 Verily, (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) the Grip (Punishment) of your Lord is severe. 12 It is verily He who initiates and repeats. 13 And He only is the Oft Forgiving, the Beloved of His bondmen. 14 in sublime almightiness enthroned, 15 Doer of what He will. 16 Has the story reached thee, of the forces- 17 of Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 Yet those who deny the truth persist in denial. 19 Allah encompasses them all from behind. 20 Nay, this is a Glorious Qur'an, 21 in a Guarded Tablet. 22
