The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Of what do they ask one another? 1 About the great tidings! 2 About which they have been differing? 3 Indeed they will come to know soon; 4 Again, by no means! anon they shall know. 5 Did We not make the earth a bed? 6 And the high hills bulwarks? 7 And We created you in pairs, 8 and made your sleep a means of repose, 9 And We made the night to be a covering, 10 and the day as time for you to make a living? 11 Have We not made seven strong heavens above you, 12 And have appointed a dazzling lamp, 13 And then sent down hard rain from the water bearing clouds. 14 That We may bring forth thereby corn and herbs, 15 And gardens of thick foliage. 16 Indeed the Day of Decision is a time fixed. 17 the Day when the Trumpet shall be blown, and you will come forth in multitudes; 18 and heaven is opened, and become gates, 19 And the mountains shall be moved away from their places and they will be as if they were a mirage. 20 Verily the Hell is an ambuscade: 21 The rebels' abode, 22 where they shall remain for ages, 23 Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink, 24 Except boiling water, and dirty wound discharges. 25 Reward proportioned (to their evil deeds). 26 for they never expected to be called to account, 27 and persistently rejected Our revelations. 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 'Taste! We shall increase you not save in chastisement.' 30
