And whoever is averse to the Remembrance of the Most Gracious, We appoint a devil upon him, who stays with him. 36 and they bar them from the Way, though they themselves think that they are guided. 37 till, when he comes to Us, he says, 'Would there had been between me and thee the distance of the two Easts!' An evil comrade! 38 It will profit you not this Day (O you who turn away from Allah's remembrance and His worship, etc.) as you did wrong, (and) that you will be sharers (you and your Qarin) in the punishment. 39 What! can you then make the deaf to hear or guide the blind and him who is in clear error? 40 We shall revenge them either after your death 41 Or We shall show thee that (accomplished) which We have promised them: for verily We shall prevail over them. 42 Follow devotedly that which is revealed to you. You are certainly on the right path. 43 The (Qur'an) is indeed the message, for thee and for thy people; and soon shall ye (all) be brought to account. 44 And ask them – did any of the Noble Messengers We sent before you, appoint any other Gods except the Most Gracious, whom they used to worship? 45
