The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 And by those that swim along (i.e. angels or planets in their orbits, etc.). 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 by the managers (angels) affair. 5 One Day everything that can be in commotion will be in violent commotion, 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 On that day hearts beat painfully 8 and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 After having turned to carious bones?" 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 So that is not but a single shout. 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 Then he turned away, deliberating, 22 and then he gathered [his great ones,] and called [unto his people,] 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 you pay attention 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
