The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the night as it envelops; 1 And by the day as it appears in brightness; 2 And the creating of the male and the female, 3 Verily, [O men,] you aim at most divergent ends! 4 Then as for him who giveths and feareth Him. 5 And (in all sincerity) testifies to the best,- 6 Surely We will ease his way unto the state of ease. 7 But he who does not give and is unconcerned, 8 and cries lies to the reward most fair, 9 We shall facilitate for him the way to Hardship, 10 nor will his wealth profit him when he falls [into the pit]. 11 Indeed guiding is upon Us. 12 And lo! unto Us belong the latter portion and the former. 13 So, I warn you of the blazing Fire. 14 None shall enter it save the most wretched, 15 The one who denied and turned away. 16 And avoid it shall the most pious, 17 even he who gives his wealth. to purify himself 18 and confers no favour on any man for recompense, 19 except the pleasure of their Lord, the Most High 20 And he is going to be satisfied. 21
Almighty God's Truth.
