S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Sad. By the Qur'an full of admonition. 1 In fact, the unbelievers are the ones who are boastful and quarrelsome. 2 Many a generation We did destroy before them – thereupon they cried out whereas it is not the time to escape! 3 Now they marvel that a warner has come to them from among them; and the unbelievers say, 'This is a lying sorcerer. 4 What, has he made the gods One God? This is indeed a wondrous thing' 5 And the eminent among them went forth, [saying], "Continue, and be patient over [the defense of] your gods. Indeed, this is a thing intended. 6 We have not heard of any such thing in the old religion. This is nothing but a fabrication. 7 “Is the Qur’an which is sent to him, among us?” In fact they are in a doubt concerning My Book; in fact, they have not yet tasted My punishment. 8 Do they have the stores of the mercy of your Lord, the mighty and munificent? 9 Or is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them theirs? Then let them ascend by ropes! 10 This is only a small army out of the several armies that will suffer defeat here. 11 The folk of Noah before them denied (their messenger) and (so did the tribe of) A'ad, and Pharaoh firmly planted, 12 and so did Thamud and the people of Lot and the people of Aykah. These were all leagued together. 13 Each of them denied the messengers, so My penalty was justified. 14
