Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
We sent Noah to his people telling him, "Warn your people before a painful torment approaches them". 1 He said: "O my people! Verily, I am a plain warner to you, 2 "That you should worship Allah (Alone), be dutiful to Him, and obey me, 3 “He will forgive you some of your sins, and give you respite up to an appointed term; indeed the promise of Allah cannot be averted when it arrives; if only you knew.” 4 He said, "My Lord! I have called my people night and day 5 "But all my calling added nothing but to (their) flight (from the truth). 6 Every time I have called to them, so that You might forgive them, they have only thrust their fingers into their ears, covered themselves up with their garments, grown obstinate, and given themselves up to arrogance. 7 Then surely I called to them aloud: 8 Then verily I spake unto them openly and secretly. I also addressed them. 9 and I said: "'Ask your Sustainer to forgive you your sins - for, verily, He is all-forgiving! 10 He will send down upon you the cloud, pouring down abundance of rain: 11 and will succour you with wealth and sons, and will appoint for you gardens, and will appoint for you rivers. 12 ‘What is the matter with you, that you do not desire honour from Allah?’ 13 And indeed He has created you through various grades: 14 Do you not consider how Allah has created seven heavens in layers 15 ‘And in them, has illuminated the moon, and made the sun a lamp?’ 16 "'And God has caused you to grow out of the earth in [gradual] growth; and thereafter He will return you to it [in death]: 17 He will make you return to it and then take you out of it again. 18 how God has spread the earth out for you 19 That you may go along therein in wide paths. 20
