The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ What do they question each other about! 1 Concerning the Great News, 2 About which they cannot agree. 3 Indeed, they shall know! 4 again, no indeed; soon will they come to know. 5 Have We not made the earth as a place to rest 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 and created you in pairs (as men and women), 8 And have appointed your sleep for repose, 9 and the night as a cover, 10 and made the day to seek livelihood, 11 And constructed above you seven strong [heavens] 12 and placed therein a hot, shining lamp, 13 And sent down, from the rain clouds, pouring water 14 to make the seeds, plants, 15 and gardens luxuriant. 16 Surely the Day of Judgement has an appointed time; 17 The day when the Trumpet will be blown – you will therefore come forth in multitudes. 18 and heaven is opened, and become gates, 19 and the mountains move, and vaporize. 20 Verily the Hell is an ambuscade: 21 a return for the insolent, 22 They will abide therein for ages. 23 They will not feel cold nor taste any drink 24 save boiling water and pus 25 Requital corresponding. 26 For that they used not to fear any account (for their deeds), 27 And denied Our verses with [emphatic] denial. 28 but We have placed on record every single thing [of what they did]. 29 'Taste! We shall not increase you except in punishment' 30
