Observedest thou him who turned away? 33 Gives a little, then hardens (his heart)? 34 Has he the knowledge of the unseen so that he can see? 35 Or, has he not been told of that which is in the Scrolls of Moses 36 and of Abraham, who lived up to the trust? 37 That no burdened person (with sins) shall bear the burden (sins) of another. 38 and that everyone shall have in his account only that which he worked for, 39 and that his labouring shall surely be seen, 40 And afterward he will be repaid for it with fullest payment; 41 and that the final return is to your Lord, 42 That it is He Who granteth Laughter and Tears; 43 And that it is He who causes death and gives life 44 and He it is Who created the two kinds, the male and the female, 45 From a seed when lodged (in its place); 46 and that upon Him is the second creation 47 And that He it is Who enricheth and contenteth; 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius, 49 And that He did destroy the Ad of old 50 And (the tribe of) Thamud He spared not; 51 Like the people of Noah before them, who were surely oppressors and rebellious; 52 And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah). 53 And covered them by that which He covered. 54 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 55 This is a warner, of the warners of old. 56 The imminent Hour has drawn near, 57 None beside Allah can disclose it. 58 Are you astonished at this news, 59 Will you laugh at it rather than weep? 60 While ye amuse yourselves? 61 Therefore prostrate for Allah, and worship Him.
