The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ What are they asking each other about? 1 Of the mighty tiding 2 Regarding which they hold different views. 3 No! They are going to know. 4 Nay, again, they will come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth as a cradle 6 And the high hills bulwarks? 7 And We have created you in pairs; 8 And have made your sleep as a thing for rest. 9 And We have made the night a covering. 10 And have made the day for livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven firmaments, 12 and We have set therein a glowing lamp. 13 and sent down heavy rains from the clouds 14 to make the seeds, plants, 15 And dense gardens. 16 Surely, the Day of Judgement has an appointed time. 17 The day on which the trumpet shall be blown so you shall come forth in hosts, 18 And the heaven is opened and becometh as gates, 19 and the mountains move, and vaporize. 20 [On that Day,] verily, hell will lie in wait [for those who deny the truth] 21 It will be a place of return 22 In it shall they remain for a long time. 23 and where they will taste neither coolness nor any drink 24 Save a boiling fluid and a fluid, dark, murky, intensely cold, 25 as a fitting recompense for their deeds. 26 Surely they feared not the account, 27 But they (impudently) treated Our Signs as false. 28 We have kept account of everything in a book. 29 So taste (of that which ye have earned). No increase do We give you save of torment. 30

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
