Observedest thou him who turned away? 33 and gives so little [of himself for the good of his soul,] and so grudgingly? 34 Does he have knowledge of the hidden, so he can foresee? 35 Has not he been informed of the contents of the Book of Moses 36 and of Abraham, who to his trust was true: 37 That no soul laden bears the load of another, 38 And that man shall have nothing but what he strives for- 39 and that his labouring shall surely be seen, 40 And only then will he receive his recompense in full; 41 And that the end is only towards your Lord? 42 And that it is He who makes [one] laugh and weep 43 and that He it is Who causes death and grants life, 44 That He did create in pairs,- male and female, 45 from an ejected drop of sperm; 46 And that upon Him is another bringing forth. 47 That it is He Who giveth wealth and satisfaction; 48 and that He is the Lord of (the star) Sirius, 49 And that it is He Who earlier destroyed the tribe of Aad? 50 And destroyed the tribe of Thamud, not sparing anyone? 51 And the people of Nuh (Noah) aforetime, verily, they were more unjust and more rebellious and transgressing [in disobeying Allah and His Messenger Nuh (Noah)]. 52 And the overthrown cities did He overthrow, 53 And covered them by that which He covered. 54 Which then of thy Lord's benefits wilt thou doubt? 55 THIS IS a warning like those warnings of old: 56 that [Last Hour] which is so near draws ever nearer, 57 There is no one to unveil it apart from God. 58 Will you, then, wonder at this? 59 And will you laugh and not weep? 60 Will you occupy yourselves simply in merriment? 61 So fall you down in prostration to Allah, and worship Him (Alone). ۩ 62
