The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the angels who violently tear-out the souls of the disbelievers from their bodies, 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 And direct affairs by command, 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 Hearts will pound loudly on that day, 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 They say (now): "What! shall we indeed be returned to (our) former state? 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 They say: Then that would be a vain proceeding. 12 But all it will take is a single blast, 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Have you received the story of Moses? 15 How his Lord called him in the holy vale of Tuwa, 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] belied and disobeyed; 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 Then he gathered (men) and called out. 23 Saying: "I am alone your lord, the highest of them all." 24 Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
