He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ He frowned and turned away. 1 when the blind man approached him, 2 Yet for all thou didst know, [O Muhammad,] he might perhaps have grown in purity, 3 (He might) remember, and the Reminder might profit him. 4 As to one who regards Himself as self-sufficient, 5 to him didst thou give thy whole attention, 6 though you are not to be blamed if he would not purify himself -- 7 And as to him who comes to you striving hard, 8 And he feareth 9 of him you were unmindful. 10 By no means (should it be so)! For it is indeed a Message of instruction: 11 So whoever wishes may remember it. 12 (It is) in Records held (greatly) in honour (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz). 13 uplifted, purified, 14 (Written) by the hands of scribes- 15 Who are noble, virtuous. 16 Woe to man! What hath made him reject Allah; 17 From what thing did He create him? 18 From a single sperm He created, then proportioned him, 19 Then He eased the way for him; 20 He will then send him to death and have him laid in the grave. 21 Then, when it is His Will, He will resurrect him (again). 22 No indeed! Man has not accomplished His bidding. 23 Let Man consider his nourishment. 24 It is We Who pour forth water, pouring, 25 Thereafter We cleave the earth in clefts, 26 and thereupon We cause grain to grow out of it, 27 And Grapes and nutritious plants, 28 and olives, and palms, 29 And gardens, dense with many trees, 30 and fruits and fodder 31 for you and for your herds to delight in. 32 When the trumpet sounds, 33 That Day shall a man flee from his own brother, 34 his mother, his father, 35 his wife and his sons: 36 Each one of them, that Day, will have enough concern (of his own) to make him indifferent to the others. 37 Many faces will that day be bright, 38 Laughing, joyous. 39 And (many) faces on that day, on them shall be dust, 40 with darkness overspread: 41 these, these will be the ones who denied the truth and were immersed in iniquity! 42
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: He Frowned ('Abasa). Sent down in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
