The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 And [by] those who remove with ease 2 And [by] those who glide [as if] swimming 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 and thus they fulfil the [Creator's] behest! 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 even after we have turned into decayed bones?" 11 They say: "It would, in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 then he mustered 23 And said, "I am your most exalted lord." 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
