The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 The piercing star! 3 [for] no human being has ever been left unguarded. 4 So man must consider from what he has been created. 5 Created from a gushing fluid. 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 Verily He is Able to restore him, 8 on the Day when consciences are examined, 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- 12 the Quran is the final word, 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 Behold, they [who refuse to accept it] devise many a false argument [to disprove its truth]; 15 But I too am devising a plan. 16 Give respite to the disbelievers and leave them alone for a while. 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
