Did the news of Ibrahim’s honourable guests reach you (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him)? 24 Behold, they entered his presence, and said: "Peace!" He said, "Peace!" (and thought, "These seem) unusual people." 25 Then he went apart unto his housefolk so that they brought a fatted calf; 26 and he laid it before them saying, 'Will you not eat?' 27 He therefore inwardly sensed fear of them; they said, “Do not fear!”; and they gave him the glad tidings of a knowledgeable son. 28 Then his wife came forward, making moan, and smote her face, and cried: A barren old woman! 29 They said: Even so saith thy Lord. Lo! He is the Wise, the Knower. 30 ۞ Said he, 'And what is your business, envoys?' 31 They replied: 'We are sent to a sinful nation, 32 That we may send down upon them stones of baked clay. 33 Marked, from before thy Lord, for the extravagant. 34 Then we brought forth such believers as were there. 35 We found in it only one household of true believers -- 36 And We left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment. 37 And in Musa: When We sent him to Firon with clear authority. 38 But he turned away with his supporters and said," A magician or a madman." 39 So We seized him and his hosts and flung them in the sea, for he was reprobate. 40 And also in Ad, when We loosed against them the withering wind 41 It left nothing whatever that it came up against, but reduced it to ruin and rottenness. 42 And in Samood: When it was said to them: Enjoy yourselves for a while. 43 But they were insolent toward the command of their Lord, so the thunderbolt seized them while they were looking on. 44 And neither stand up nor defend themselves. 45 [We destroyed] the people of Noah before them. They were certainly a sinful people. 46
