The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 And when the stars fall, 2 And when the mountains are made to pass away, 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 the oceans are brought to a boil, 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed 9 And when the written pages of deeds (good and bad) of every person shall be laid open; 10 and when Heaven is laid bare; 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 And when Paradise shall be brought near, 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 Go straight, or hide; 16 And by the night when it departeth, 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 he truly beheld [the angel - beheld] him on the clear horizon; 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 Whither then go ye? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 For the one among you who wishes to become upright. 28 And ye will not, unless (it be) that Allah willeth, the Lord of Creation. 29
