Do not kill your children for fear of poverty. We will give sustenance to all of you. To kill them is certainly a great sin. 31 And come not near unto adultery. Lo! it is an abomination and an evil way. 32 And do not kill any one whom Allah has forbidden, except for a just cause, and whoever is slain unjustly, We have indeed given to his heir authority, so let him not exceed the just limits in slaying; surely he is aided. 33 And do not touch the property of the orphans except for bettering it, until they come of age; and fulfil the promise made: You will surely be questioned about the promise. 34 Give full measure, when you measure, and weigh with accurate scales. That is fair, and better in the end. 35 Do not follow what you do not know; for the ear and the eye and the heart shall all be called to account. 36 And walk not on the earth with conceit and arrogance. Verily, you can neither rend nor penetrate the earth, nor can you attain a stature like the mountains in height. 37 All these are evil and odious to your Lord. 38 This is some of the wisdom your Lord has revealed to you. So do not take another god apart from God, or you will be cast into Hell, reproved, ostracised. 39 What! has then your Lord preferred to give you sons, and (for Himself) taken daughters from among the angels? Most surely you utter a grievous saying. 40
