The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heavens and al-tariq. 1 And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- 2 It is the star that shines with a piercing brightness -- 3 That over each soul there is a guardian. 4 So let man consider from what he is created. 5 He was created of a gushing fluid, 6 That issueth from between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 on the Day when consciences are examined, 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 By the heaven which returneth, 11 and the earth, bursting forth with plants! 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 not a flippant jest. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 and I am devising guile. 16 Therefore give them some respite give them some time. 17
Almighty Allah's Truth.
