The people of Lot rejected the Messengers. 160 when their brother Lot said to them, 'Will you not be godfearing? 161 I have been sent as a trusted messenger to you. 162 be, then, conscious of God, and pay heed unto me! 163 And I do not ask you any reward for it; my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds; 164 "Go you in unto the males of the 'Alamin (mankind), 165 And leave what your Lord has created for you of your wives? Nay, you are a people exceeding limits. 166 They said, "Lot, if you do not give up preaching, you will certainly be expelled (from this town)". 167 He said, 'Truly I am a detester of what you do. 168 "O my Lord! deliver me and my family from such things as they do!" 169 So We saved him and his household, every one, 170 except an old woman who remained behind. 171 then We destroyed the others, 172 And We rained down upon them a rain, and evil was the rain on those warned. 173 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims. 174 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might Most Merciful. 175
