In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds sent forth with beneficence. 1 Which then blow violently in tempestuous Gusts, 2 By those which cause earth's vegetation to revive; 3 And the scattering winds scattering. 4 And by the angels that bring the revelations to the Messengers, 5 excusing or warning, 6 that which you have been promised shall be fulfilled. 7 Then the stars will lose their light. 8 when heaven shall be split 9 and the mountains scattered, 10 and when the Messengers' time is set, 11 For what day is that time fixed? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 And what do you know, what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the men of old (for their evil)? 16 We shall then send the latter after them. 17 So We serve the sinners. 18 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 and place it in a secure place 21 For a known period (determined by gestation)? 22 So We proportion it-- how well are We at proportioning (things). 23 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth to draw together to itself, 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 Have We not placed high mountains upon it and given you fresh water to drink? 27 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 28 Walk on to that which you called a lie. 29 Walk on to the covering having three branches, 30 affording neither shade, nor protection from the flames, 31 Verily! It (Hell) throws sparks (huge) as Al-Qasr [a fort or a Qasr (huge log of wood)], 32 "As if there were (a string of) yellow camels (marching swiftly)." 33 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 34 They will not be able to speak that day, 35 And they will not be permitted to put forth any excuse. 36 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have brought you and the men of old together. 38 if you have a trick, try you now to trick Me!' 39 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 40
