۞ Gather together the evildoers, their wives, and that they were worshipping, 22 Instead of Allah, and lead them to the path to hell; 23 And detain them, for they will be questioned." 24 "What is the matter with you? Why do you not help one another (as you used to do in the world)?" 25 Nay, but that day they shall submit (to Judgment); 26 And they will turn to one another, and question one another. 27 saying: 'You used to come to us from the right hand' 28 They will reply: "Nay, you yourselves were not believers. 29 "Nor had we any authority over you. Nay, it was ye who were a people in obstinate rebellion! 30 "So now the Word of our Lord has been justified against us, that we shall certainly (have to) taste (the torment). 31 we perverted you, indeed, we were perverts' 32 And verily, on that Day they all will share in their common suffering. 33 Indeed, that is how We deal with the criminals. 34 Indeed, when it was said to them, “There is no God except Allah”, they were haughty. 35 And (they) said: "Are we going to abandon our aliha (gods) for the sake of a mad poet? 36 Nay! he has come with the (very) Truth, and he confirms (the Message of) the messengers (before him). 37 “You surely have to taste the painful punishment.” 38 And you shall not be rewarded except (for) what you did. 39 But not the chosen servants of Allah. 40 For them is a known sustenance, 41 and fruits while they are honored. 42 in the Gardens of Bliss. 43 On thrones facing one another. 44 Round will be passed to them a Cup from a clear-flowing fountain, 45 White and delicious to the drinkers; 46 There shall be no trouble in it, nor shall they be exhausted therewith. 47 And with them will be mates of modest gaze, most beautiful of eye, 48 As if they were eggs carefully protected. 49 Then some of them will turn to others, and will ask each other. 50 One of them will say: “I had a companion in the world 51 who was wont to ask [me,] 'Why - art thou really one of those who believe it to be true 52 What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we indeed be requited?" 53 He will say: -- Do you wish to know where he is now?' 54 Then looketh he and seeth him in the depth of hell. 55 and says: "By God! Verily, thou hast almost destroyed me [too, O my erstwhile companion] 56 “And were it not for the munificence of my Lord, I too would have been seized and brought forth (captive)!” 57 "Is it (the case) that we shall not die, 58 except our first death, and shall we not be punished' 59 Verily, this - this indeed - is the triumph supreme!" 60 For the like of this let the workers work. 61 Is this better or the tree of Zaqqum 62 Which We have reserved as punishment for evil-doers? 63 It is a tree that grows in the nethermost part of Hell. 64 Its spathes are like the heads of satans. 65 Truly they will eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 Washing it down with boiling water. 67 Then thereafter, verily, their return is to the flaming fire of Hell. 68 Verily they found their fathers gone astray. 69 yet they run in their footsteps, 70 Before them erred most of the ancients, 71 and We had sent among them Messengers to warn them. 72 Therefore see what sort of fate befell those who were warned! 73 except the sincere worshipers of Allah. 74
