And this is Our argument, which We gave Ibrahim against his people; We raise to high ranks whomever We will; indeed your Lord is Wise, All Knowing. 83 We gave him Isaac and Jacob: all (three) guided: and before him, We guided Noah, and among his progeny, David, Solomon, Job, Joseph, Moses, and Aaron: thus do We reward those who do good: 84 And Zechariah and John and Jesus and Elias - and all were of the righteous. 85 And Ishmael and Elisha and Jonah and Lot - and all [of them] We preferred over the worlds. 86 (To them) and to their fathers, and progeny and brethren: We chose them, and we guided them to a straight way. 87 Such is the guidance of God by which He guides whichever of His servants He wants. If people worship idols, their deeds will be turned devoid of all virtue. 88 Those are they unto whom We vouchsafed the Book and judgement and prophethood. Wherefore if those disbelieve therein, We have surely entrusted it unto a people who are not disbelievers therein. 89 Those are they whom God has guided; so follow their guidance. Say: 'I ask of you no wage for it; it is but a reminder unto all beings.' 90
