Remind them, therefore, that by the grace of your Lord you are neither a soothsayer nor possessed. 29 Or say they: (he is) a poet, (one) for whom we may expect the accident of time? 30 Say: Wait, for surely I too with you am of those who wait. 31 is it their minds that prompt them [to say] this, or are they merely insolent people? 32 Or do they say, "He fabricated the (Message)"? Nay, they have no faith! 33 Let them produce a phrase like it, if what they say is true! 34 Or, were they created out of nothing? Or, were they their own creators? 35 Or have they created the heavens and the earth? In fact they are certain of nothing. 36 Or do they own the treasures of thy Lord? Or have they been given charge (thereof)? 37 Or do they have a ladder (climbing which) they can hear (the secrets of heaven)? Let one who has heard then bring a clear proof. 38 Or has He only daughters and ye have sons? 39 Or do you (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) ask any fee from them, so they are burdened with the penalty? 40 Or that the Unseen in it their hands, and they write it down? 41 Or do they intend a plan? But those who disbelieve - they are the object of a plan. 42 Or do they have a God besides Allah? Purity is to Allah from their ascribing of partners to Him. 43 Were they to see a piece of the sky falling (on them), they would (only) say: "Clouds gathered in heaps!" 44 So leave them alone until they encounter that Day of theirs when they shall be struck down, 45 when their stratagem shall be of no avail to them, nor shall they be succoured. 46 And verily, for those who do wrong, there is another punishment (i.e. the torment in this world and in their graves) before this, but most of them know not.
