Indeed, We sent Nuh (Noah) to his people and he said: "O my people! Worship Allah! You have no other Ilah (God) but Him. (La ilaha ill-Allah: none has the right to be worshipped but Allah). Certainly, I fear for you the torment of a Great Day!" 59 but the leading men of his people said, "Truly, we see that you are obviously lost in error!" 60 Said he, 'My people, there is no error in me; but I am a Messenger from the Lord of all Being.' 61 I am conveying my Lord's messages to you and giving you sincere advice. I know things from God that you do not. 62 Do you wonder that admonition should come to you from your Lord through a man from amongst yourselves that he may warn you, that you may avoid evil and that mercy may be shown to you?' 63 But they charged him with falsehood. Thereupon We delivered Noah and those who were with him in the Ark, and caused those who rejected Our signs as false to be drowned. Surely they were a blind folk. 64
