(Remember) when He covered you with a slumber as a security from Him, and He caused water (rain) to descend on you from the sky, to clean you thereby and to remove from you the Rijz (whispering, evil-suggestions, etc.) of Shaitan (Satan), and to strengthen your hearts, and make your feet firm thereby. 11 When thy Lord inspired the angels, (saying): I am with you. So make those who believe stand firm. I will throw fear into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Then smite the necks and smite of them each finger. 12 This, because they have resisted Allah and His apostle; and whosoever resisteth Allah and His apostle, then verily Allah is severe in retribution. 13 Thus (will it be said): "Taste ye then of the (punishment): for those who resist Allah, is the penalty of the Fire." 14 O you who believe! when you meet those who disbelieve marching for war, then turn not your backs to them. 15 (Whoever deserts the believers) will incur the wrath of God and will dwell in hell, a terrible dwelling. 16 You killed them not, but Allah killed them. And you (Muhammad SAW) threw not when you did throw but Allah threw, that He might test the believers by a fair trial from Him. Verily, Allah is All-Hearer, All-Knower. 17 This, and that Allah is the weakener of the struggle of the unbelievers. 18 If you (the pagans) are looking for conquest, you certainly had a great chance (at the battle of Badr). But if you were to give up such a desire, it would be better for you. If you again wage war against Us, We will be ready for such a confrontation. Your man-power will be of no help to you no matter how much you have; God is with the believers. 19
