Believers, obey Allah and His Messenger, and do not turn away from him when you are hearing. 20 And be not like those who said, We hear, and they did not obey. 21 ۞ Indeed, the worst of living creatures in the sight of Allah are the deaf and dumb who do not use reason. 22 Had Allah known of any good in them He would have made them hear, but had He made them hear they would have turned away, averse. 23 O ye who believe! give your response to Allah and His Messenger, when He calleth you to that which will give you life; and know that Allah cometh in between a man and his heart, and that it is He to Whom ye shall (all) be gathered. 24 And be cautious against a sedition that will not smite the harmdoers alone. Know that the punishment of Allah is Stern. 25 And remember when you were only a few and meek in the land, and feared that men may snatch you away – He therefore gave you refuge and strengthened you with His help, and gave you good things as sustenance, so that you may be thankful. 26 O you who believe, do not be faithless to God and His Apostle, nor violate your trusts knowingly. 27 Know well that your belongings and your children are but a trial, and that with Allah there is a mighty reward. 28
