And if they deny you, [O Muhammad], then say, "For me are my deeds, and for you are your deeds. You are disassociated from what I do, and I am disassociated from what you do." 41 And of them are some who listen unto thee. But canst thou make the deaf to hear even though they apprehend not? 42 Some of them look toward you: But can you show the blind the way even when they cannot see? 43 Surely, God does not wrong people at all, but people wrong themselves. 44 The Day when He will gather them, (it will be) as though they had lingered but an hour of the Day and they will recognize one another. Lost are those who belied the meeting with their Lord and were not guided. 45 And whether We show thee [in this world something of what We hold in store for those deniers of the truth,] or whether We cause thee to die [before that retribution takes place - know that, in the end,] it is unto Us that they must return; and God is witness to all that they do. 46 And for each community there hath been sent an apostle; and when their apostle hath arrived, the matter between them is decreed in equity, and they are not wronged. 47 They say:'If what you promise is true, when will this threat be fulfilled?' 48 Say, "I possess not for myself any harm or benefit except what Allah should will. For every nation is a [specified] term. When their time has come, then they will not remain behind an hour, nor will they precede [it]." 49 Ask them, "What benefit can criminals get from their demand that God must punish them immediately if His words are true?" Whether His punishment befalls them during the day or night (they will not be able to escape). 50 What, when it has come to pass, will you then believe in it? Now, when already you seek to hasten it!' 51 Then will it be said unto those who dealt unjustly Taste the torment of eternity. Are ye requited aught save what ye used to earn? 52 They ask you, "Is that (punishment) true?" Tell them, "It certainly is. I swear by my Lord. You can not escape from (God's retribution)". 53
