And [subsequently] the king said, "Indeed, I have seen [in a dream] seven fat cows being eaten by seven [that were] lean, and seven green spikes [of grain] and others [that were] dry. O eminent ones, explain to me my vision, if you should interpret visions." 43 They said: medleys of dreams! and in the interpretation of dreams we are not skilled. 44 Then one of the two men who had been released and who, after a long time, remembered, said, "I shall tell you its interpretation; therefore, give me leave to go [to Joseph in prison]." 45 (He went to the prison) and said to Joseph, "You are a man of truth. Would you tell me the meaning of a dream in which seven fat cows eat up seven lean ones and the meaning of seven green ears of corn and seven dry ones? I hope you can tell me the right meaning and save people from confusion." 46 [Joseph] said, "You will plant for seven years consecutively; and what you harvest leave in its spikes, except a little from which you will eat. 47 Then there will follow seven years of great hardship in which you will eat up all you have stored earlier, except the little that you may set aside. 48 "Then thereafter will come a year in which people will have abundant rain and in which they will press (wine and oil)." 49
