At length when the messengers arrived among the adherents of Lut, 61 he said: "Behold, you are people unknown [here]!" 62 'No' they replied: 'We bring you (news) of that concerning which they were doubting. 63 and we have come to you with the truth, and surely we are truthful, 64 "Then travel by night with thy household, when a portion of the night (yet remains), and do thou bring up the rear: let no one amongst you look back, but pass on whither ye are ordered." 65 And We communicated to him the decree that by the morning those people will be totally destroyed. 66 The people of the town came along, revelling, 67 and he told them, "These are my guests, so do not disgrace me. 68 “And fear Allah and do not disgrace me.” 69 They (people of the city) said: "Did we not forbid you to entertain (or protect) any of the 'Alamin (people, foreigners, strangers, etc. from us)?" 70 [Lot] said: "[Take instead] these daughters of mine, if you must do [whatever you intend to do]!" 71 Verily, by your life (O Muhammad SAW), in their wild intoxication, they were wandering blindly. 72 and thereupon the blast [of Our punishment] overtook them at sunrise. 73 And We turned the township upside down and rained upon them stones of heated clay. 74 There are great Signs in this for those endowed with intelligence. 75 Indeed, it is on a way which still exists. 76 Indeed in that is a sign for the believers. 77 The people of the Wood were also surely wrongdoers. 78 So We took vengeance on them. Both are still there on the highway, plain for all to see. 79
