Beholdest thou not that Allah hath subjected to Himself for you whatsoever is on the earth and the ships running in the sea by His command? And He withholdeth the heaven that it fall not on the earth save by His leave. Verily Allah is, unto mankind, Clement, Merciful. 65 It is He who gives you life, then makes you die; then He will bring you back to life again. Man is surely most ungrateful. 66 For each nation We have made the rules of worship for them to follow – so never should they quarrel with you in this matter – and call them towards your Lord; indeed you are upon the Straight Path. 67 And if they quarrel with you, say, “Allah well knows your evil deeds.” 68 Allah will judge between you on the day of resurrection respecting that in which you differ. 69 Do you not know that God knows all that is in the heavens and the earth? His decree is already recorded in the Book and issuing such a Judgment is not difficult for Him at all. 70 And yet they [who claim to believe in Him often] worship [other beings or forces] beside God - something for which He has never bestowed any warrant from on high, and [of the reality] whereof they cannot have any knowledge: and such evildoers shall have none to succour them [on Judgment Day]. 71 And when Our clear communications are recited to them you will find denial on the faces of those who disbelieve; they almost spring upon those who recite to them Our communications. Say: Shall I inform you of what is worse than this? The fire; Allah has promised it to those who disbelieve; and how evil the resort! 72
