Then when the sent ones entered unto the household of Lut. 61 He said, "Indeed, you are people unknown." 62 "We have come to you with news," they said, "of what your people doubt; 63 And we have come to you with truth, and indeed, we are truthful. 64 Go, then, with thy household while it is yet night, with thyself following them in the rear; and let none of you look back, but proceed whither you are bidden." 65 We communicated to him Our decree that the guilty ones would be destroyed by the morning. 66 The people of the town came along, revelling, 67 He said: 'These are my guests; do not shame me. 68 "And do not disgrace me. Have some fear of God." 69 "Did we not restrain you," they said, "from (entertaining) creatures from the outside world?" 70 He said: These are my daughters, if you will do (aught). 71 By your life O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) – they are indeed straying in their intoxication. 72 At sunrise a dreadful Shout seized them. 73 and We turned it uppermost nethermost and rained on it stones of baked clay. 74 Surely, in that there are signs for those who contemplate. 75 That town lies on a road which still exists. 76 In this there is evidence (of the Truth) for the believers. 77 The people of the Wood were also surely wrongdoers. 78 and so We inflicted Our retribution on them. And behold, both these [sinful communities] lived by a highway, [to this day] plain to see 79
