The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Praise belongs to God who has sent down upon His servant the Book and has not assigned unto it any crookedness; 1 [He has made it] straight, to warn of severe punishment from Him and to give good tidings to the believers who do righteous deeds that they will have a good reward 2 Wherein they shall remain for ever: 3 And that it may warn those who say: God hath taken a son. 4 No knowledge have they of such a thing, nor had their fathers. It is a grievous thing that issues from their mouths as a saying what they say is nothing but falsehood! 5 Perhaps you will destroy yourself out of grief because they disbelieve this Book. 6 Lo! We have placed all that is on the earth as an ornament thereof that We may try them: which of them is best in conduct. 7 and, verily, [in time] We shall reduce all that is on it to barren dust! 8 Or, do you think that the Fellows of the Cave and the Inscription were of Our wonderful signs? 9 When the youths took refuge in the Cave saying, 'Our lord, give us mercy from Thee, and furnish us with rectitude in our affair.' 10 Then We draw (a veil) over their ears, for a number of years, in the Cave, (so that they heard not): 11 and then roused them so that We might see which of the two parties could best tell the length of their stay. 12
