T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Ta Ha. 1 We did not bestow the Qur'an on thee from on high to make thee unhappy, 2 only as reminder for those who have fear (of disobeying God). 3 A revelation from Him who created the earth and the high ascending skies, 4 The Most Beneficent (Allah) Istawa (rose over) the (Mighty) Throne (in a manner that suits His Majesty). 5 To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth, and all that lies between them, and underneath the soil. 6 Whether or not you express (your thoughts) in words, God certainly knows all unspoken thoughts and all that is even more difficult to find. 7 Allah! La ilahla illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He)! To Him belong the Best Names. 8 Has the story of Moses reached you? 9 Behold, he saw a fire: So he said to his family, "Tarry ye; I perceive a fire; perhaps I can bring you some burning brand therefrom, or find some guidance at the fire." 10 When he came to it, a voice cried, 'Moses, 11 "Verily I am thy Lord! therefore (in My presence) put off thy shoes: thou art in the sacred valley Tuwa. 12 And I have chosen you, so listen to what is revealed [to you]. 13 Verily I am God; there is no god but I; therefore serve Me, and perform the prayer of My remembrance. 14 Although it is certain that the Day of Judgment will come, I prefer to keep it almost a secret so that every soul will receive the recompense for what it has done (on its own). 15 So do not let one avert you from it who does not believe in it and follows his desire, for you [then] would perish. 16 “And what is this in your right hand, O Moosa?” 17 'Why, it is my staff,' said Moses. 'I lean upon it, and with it I beat down leaves to feed my sheep; other uses also I find in it. 18 He said: Cast it down, O Moses! 19 So he threw it down, and lo, it became a running serpent. 20 Then He said: "Seize it and have no fear. We shall restore it to its former state. 21 And press thy hand to thy side, it will come forth white, without hurt, as another sign. 22 for We shall show you some of Our greatest Signs. 23 Go to Pharaoh; he has transgressed all bounds." 24
