'Lord' said Moses, 'expand my chest, 25 And make my mission easy. 26 And loose a knot from my tongue, 27 That they may understand my speech, 28 and appoint for me, from my household, someone who will help me bear my burden - 29 Aaron, my brother; 30 Increase through him my strength 31 Let him be my partner in this task 32 That we may exalt You much 33 "And remember You much, 34 Surely You know us well." 35 He said: Thou art granted thy request, O Moses. 36 "And indeed We conferred a favour on you another time (before). 37 When We inspired to your mother what We inspired, 38 'Put him in a wooden box and cast it in the river. The river will cast it on the bank. An enemy of Ours, and his, will retrieve it.' We bestowed Our love on you that you may be reared under Our eyes. 39 When thy sister went and said: Shall I show you one who will nurse him? and we restored thee to thy mother that her eyes might be refreshed and might not sorrow. And thou didst kill a man and We delivered thee from great distress, and tried thee with a heavy trial. And thou didst tarry years among the folk of Midian. Then camest thou (hither) by (My) providence, O Moses, 40 And I chose you for Myself. 41 "Go you and your brother with My Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.), and do not, you both, slacken and become weak in My Remembrance. 42 Go both to Firon, surely he has become inordinate; 43 And speak to him with gentle speech that perhaps he may be reminded or fear [Allah]." 44 They said: "O our Lord, we are really frightened lest he behave insolently with us or become violent." 45 He (Allah) said: "Fear not, verily! I am with you both, hearing and seeing. 46 So go you both to him and say: Surely we are two apostles of your Lord; therefore send the children of Israel with us and do not torment them! Indeed we have brought to you a communication from your Lord, and peace is on him who follows the guidance; 47 ‘It has indeed been revealed to us that the punishment is upon the one who denies and turns away.’” 48 [Pharaoh] said, "So who is the Lord of you two, O Moses?" 49 He replied: "Our Sustainer is He who gives unto every thing [that exists] its true nature and form, and thereupon guides it [towards its fulfilment]. 50 Pharaoh asked, "What about the previous generations?" 51 He (Moses) answered: 'The knowledge of them is in a Book with My Lord. My Lord neither goes astray, nor forgets. 52 "He Who has, made for you the earth like a carpet spread out; has enabled you to go about therein by roads (and channels); and has sent down water from the sky." With it have We produced diverse pairs of plants each separate from the others. 53 Eat, and graze your cattle; indeed in this are signs for people of intellect. 54
