Say, [Prophet], "I am only a warner. There is no god but God, the One, the All-Powerful, 65 the Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them; the Almighty, the Forgiving' 66 Say, “That is a great tidings.” 67 from which you are turning away.” 68 (Tell them): “I had no knowledge of the High Council when they were disputing. 69 It has not been revealed to me except that I am a clear warner." 70 When your Lord said to the angels: "I am going to create a man from clay; 71 "When I have fashioned him (in due proportion) and breathed into him of My spirit, fall ye down in obeisance unto him." 72 So all the angels prostrated themselves 73 but not Satan, who was too proud. He became one of those who deny the truth. 74 (Allah) said: "O Iblis (Satan)! What prevents you from prostrating yourself to one whom I have created with Both My Hands. Are you too proud (to fall prostrate to Adam) or are you one of the high exalted?" 75 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "I am better than he, You created me from fire, and You created him from clay." 76 Said He, 'Then go thou forth hence; thou art accursed. 77 And surely My curse is on you to the day of judgment. 78 Said he, 'My Lord, respite me till the day they shall be raised.' 79 He said: Surely you are of the respited ones, 80 until the day of the known time.' 81 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "By Your Might, then I will surely mislead them all, 82 "Except Your chosen slaves amongst them (faithful, obedient, true believers of Islamic Monotheism)." 83 He (i.e. Allah) said: “This is the Truth -- and I only speak the Truth -- 84 I shall assuredly fill Gehenna with thee, and with whosoever of them follows thee, all together.' 85 Say: 'I ask of you no wage for it, neither am I of those who take things upon themselves. 86 It is nothing but a reminder unto all beings, 87 You will know the truth of the matter after a while.” 88
