Say: "Who could protect you, by night or by day, from the Most Gracious?" And yet, from a remembrance of their Sustainer do they stubbornly turn away! 42 Or have they gods to defend them, other than Us? Indeed, they are unable to help themselves, neither shall they be guarded in safety from Us. 43 Nay, We gave the good things of this life to these men and their fathers until the period grew long for them; See they not that We gradually reduce the land (in their control) from its outlying borders? Is it then they who will win? 44 Say thou: I only warn you by the revelation; and the deaf hearken not unto the call when they are warned. 45 And if a whiff of your Lord’s punishment were to touch them, they would certainly say, “Woe to us – we were indeed unjust!” 46 On the Day of Resurrection We shall set up just scales, so that no soul shall in the least be wronged, even though it be the weight of a grain of mustard seed We will bring it; We Suffice as reckoners. 47 We gave Moses and Aaron the criterion of right and wrong and a light and reminder for the righteous, 48 Those who fear their Lord in secret and who dread the Hour (of doom). 49 And this [Qur'an] is a blessed message which We have sent down.
