The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ TRULY, to a happy state shall attain the believers: 1 those who humble themselves in their prayer, 2 And those who turn away from Al-Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk, falsehood, and all that Allah has forbidden). 3 And those who for the sake of purification are doers. 4 and restrain their carnal desires 5 [not giving way to their desires] with any but their spouses - that is, those whom they rightfully possess [through wedlock]: for then, behold, they are free of all blame, 6 But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors - 7 (Prosperous are those) who preserve their trusts and pledges 8 And they who carefully maintain their prayers - 9 Those are the inheritors 10 Who will inherit Paradise, and live in it for ever. 11 NOW, INDEED, We create man out of the essence of clay, 12 and then We cause him to remain as a drop of sperm in [the wombs] firm keeping, 13 Then fashioned We the drop a clot, then fashioned We the clot a little lump, then fashioned We the little lump bones, then clothed the bones with flesh, and then produced it as another creation. So blessed be Allah, the Best of creators! 14 Then after that, certainly all of you are to die. 15 and you will be brought back to life again on the Day of Resurrection. 16 And We created above you seven ways, and We were not heedless of creation. 17 And We sent down from the sky water (rain) in (due) measure, and We gave it lodging in the earth, and verily, We are Able to take it away. 18 With it We grow for you gardens of date-palms and vines: in them have ye abundant fruits: and of them ye eat (and have enjoyment),- 19 And also a tree that springeth forth from mount Sinai, that groweth oil and is a sauce for the eaters. 20 In the cattle, too, is a lesson for you. We let you drink of that which is in their bellies, and there are many benefits in them for you, and you eat of them, 21 And on them and on the ship ye are carried. 22
