Messengers, eat what is wholesome and do good deeds: I am well aware of what you do. 51 And indeed this, your religion, is one religion, and I am your Lord, so fear Me." 52 Then they cut their affair among them in regard to the Scriptures; each band in that which is with them rejoicing. 53 So leave them in their error till a time. 54 Do they think that by all the wealth and offspring with which We provide them 55 have no other purpose except to help them in acquiring material benefits? No indeed. But they do not understand. 56 Surely those who stand in awe for fear of their Lord, 57 who believe in the verses of their Lord; 58 And those who do not ascribe any partner to their Lord – 59 And they who give what they give while their hearts are fearful because they will be returning to their Lord - 60 it is they who vie with one another in doing good works and shall be the foremost in doing so. 61 And [withal.] We do not burden any human being with more than he is well able to bear: for with Us is a record that speaks the truth [about what men do and can do]; and none shall be wronged. 62 In fact, the hearts of the unbelievers are in the dark because of their ignorance of real virtue; they act against it. 63 Until when We overtake those who lead easy lives among them with punishment, lo! they cry for succor. 64 Cry not for succor this day; surely you shall not be given help from Us. 65 For when My revelations were read out to you, you turned back on your heels and fled 66 behaving arrogantly, and making fun, and talking nonsense (about the Book in your nightly chats)." 67 Was it that you did not give any thought to it (the Quran)? Was it different from what was revealed to your fathers? 68 Or know they not their messenger, and so reject him? 69 Or do they say: There is madness in him? Nay! he has brought them the truth, and most of them are averse from the truth. 70 Were the Truth to follow their desires, the order of the heavens and the earth and those who dwell in them would have been ruined. Nay, the fact is that We have brought to them their own remembrance; and yet it is from their own remembrance that they are turning away. 71 Or, is it that thou askest of them any maintenance? The maintenance of thy Lord is better, and He is the Best of providers. 72 And indeed, you invite them to a straight path. 73 And lo! those who believe not in the Hereafter are indeed astray from the path. 74 ۞ And if We have mercy upon them and remove the calamity which has befallen them, they would still stubbornly persist, wandering in their rebellion. 75 We had seized them with the punishment, but they did not bow before their Lord nor turned to Him in humility, 76 until We open before them a gate of [truly] severe suffering [in the life to come]: and then, lo! they will be broken in spirit. 77
