O apostles! eat of the good things and do good; surely I know what you do. 51 And verily! This your religion (of Islamic Monotheism) is one religion, and I am your Lord, so keep your duty to Me. 52 But people later cut up their religion into bits, each group rejoicing in what they have. 53 Therefore leave them in their overwhelming ignorance till 54 Deem they that in the wealth and sons wherewith We enlarge them. 55 We vie in good works for them? Nay, but they are not aware. 56 Verily those who for fear of their Lord are in awe. 57 and believe in His messages 58 And those who ascribe not partners unto their Lord, 59 And those who dispense their charity with their hearts full of fear, because they will return to their Lord;- 60 it is they who vie with one another in doing good works and shall be the foremost in doing so. 61 And [withal.] We do not burden any human being with more than he is well able to bear: for with Us is a record that speaks the truth [about what men do and can do]; and none shall be wronged. 62 But their hearts are heedless of this. Moreover, there are other deeds besides this which they do. 63 until We seize with Our chastisement those of them that are given to luxuriant ways. They will then begin to groan. 64 (We shall say): 'Do not groan today, surely you shall receive no help from Us' 65 “My verses were recited to you, so you used to turn back on your heels.” 66 Insolently, treating them like tales told at night." 67 Have they not pondered the Word, or hath that come unto them which came not unto their fathers of old? 68 Or did you not recognize your Messenger and, thus, denied him (Muhammad) 69 Do they say he is mad! No, he came to them with the truth, but most of them hate the truth. 70 Had the truth followed their fancies, the heavens, the earth, and all who live in them would have surely been corrupted. No, We brought them their Remembrance; but from their Remembrance they turn away. 71 Or dost thou ask them for tribute? Yet the tribute of thy Lord is better, and He is the best of providers. 72 You are surely calling them to the right path. 73 but those who disbelieve in the Everlasting Life deviate from the Path. 74 ۞ If We took compassion on them and removed the affliction they are in, they would only wander lost in confusion. 75 We had seized them with the punishment, but they did not bow before their Lord nor turned to Him in humility, 76 To the extent that when We opened the gate of a severe punishment for them, they thereupon lie despairingly in it. 77
