Messengers! Partake of the things that are clean, and act righteously. I know well all that you do. 51 And indeed this, your religion, is one religion, and I am your Lord, so fear Me." 52 But they split in their affair between them into sects, each party rejoicing in what is with them. 53 Wherefore leave thou them in their bewilderment for a season. 54 Do they imagine that the wealth and children We have provided 55 We are hastening them on to good things? Aye! they perceive not. 56 Surely they who from fear of their Lord are cautious, 57 Who believe in their Lord's revelations, 58 Who do not associate any one with their Lord, 59 And those who give that (their charity) which they give (and also do other good deeds) with their hearts full of fear (whether their alms and charities, etc., have been accepted or not), because they are sure to return to their Lord (for reckoning). 60 Are the ones who hasten to goodness and outpace the others. 61 We do not impose on any soul what is beyond its capacity. We have the Book which speaks the truth and no injustice will be done to it. 62 But their hearts are covered with confusion over this, and they have [evil] deeds besides disbelief which they are doing, 63 To the extent that when We seized the wealthy among them with punishment, they immediately began imploring. 64 Do not cry out for help this day, for surely you shall not be helped by Us. 65 Indeed My Verses used to be recited to you, but you used to turn back on your heels (denying them, and with hatred to listen to them). 66 and arrogantly mocked and reviled them. 67 Should they not think upon the saying? Or, did anything come upon them that had not come upon their ancient forefathers? 68 Or, is it that they recognised not their apostle, and so of him they become deniers? 69 Or say they: There is a madness in him? Nay, but he bringeth them the Truth; and most of them are haters of the Truth. 70 But if the Truth had followed their inclinations, the heavens and the earth and whoever is in them would have been ruined. Rather, We have brought them their message, but they, from their message, are turning away. 71 Or, is it that thou askest of them any maintenance? The maintenance of thy Lord is better, and He is the Best of providers. 72 You are calling them to a Straight Way, 73 And verily those who believe not in the Hereafter are deviating from that Way. 74 ۞ And though We had mercy on them and removed the distress which is on them, still they would obstinately persist in their transgression, wandering blindly. 75 We already seized them with the chastisement, yet they abased not themselves to their Lord nor were they humble; 76 Until when We open upon them a door of severe chastisement, lo! they are in despair at it. 77
