Have you not seen how your Lord lengthens the shadows? Had He pleased, He could have made them constant; then We placed the sun as an indicator for them, 45 Then We hold it in hand for a brief grasp. 46 And He it is Who made the night a covering for you, and the sleep a rest, and He made the day to rise up again. 47 And He it is who sends forth the winds as a glad tiding of His coming grace; and [thus, too,] We cause pure water to descend from the skies, 48 so that He may revive the dead land, and quench the thirst of many of His creatures from among beasts and men. 49 We send them rain from time to time so that they may take heed. Many people have responded, but ungratefully. 50 If We willed, We could have sent a Herald of Warning to every village. 51 So do not listen to unbelievers, and strive against them with greater effort. 52 ۞ And it is He who let forth the two seas, this one Sweet, grateful to taste, and this salt, bitter to the tongue, and He set between them a barrier, and a ban forbidden. 53 It is He who created man from water, then gave him consanguinity and affinity. Your Lord is omnipotent. 54 And they serve, apart from God, what neither profits them nor hurts them; and the unbeliever is ever a partisan against his Lord. 55 We have sent you only as a bearer of glad tidings and as a warner. 56 Proclaim, “I do not ask any fee from you for this, except that whoever wills may take the way to his Lord.” 57 And put your trust (O Muhammad SAW) in the Ever Living One Who dies not, and glorify His Praises, and Sufficient is He as the All-Knower of the sins of His slaves; 58 Who created the heavens and the earth and what is between them in six periods, and He is firmly established on the throne of authority; the Beneficent Allah, so ask respecting it one aware. 59 But when they are told, 'Bow yourselves to the All-merciful,' they say, 'And what is the All-merciful? Shall we bow ourselves to what thou biddest us?' And it increases them in aversion. ۩ 60
