And [mention] when your Lord called Moses, [saying], "Go to the wrongdoing people - 10 The folk of Pharaoh. Will they not ward off (evil)? 11 He said: My Lord! Lo! I fear that they will deny me, 12 My breast is constricted and my tongue is not fluent, so endow Messengership on Aaron. 13 They also have a sin against me, and I fear they will slay me.' 14 The Lord said, "Have no fear, both of you go with Our miracles. We shall closely listen to you." 15 "And when you both come to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), say: 'We are the Messengers of the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists), 16 "'Send thou with us the Children of Israel.'" 17 [But when Moses had delivered his message, Pharaoh] said: "Did we not bring thee up among us when thou wert a child? And didst thou not spend among us years of thy [later] life? 18 and you did the deed which you did. You are certainly ungrateful." 19 Said he, 'Indeed I did it then, being one of those that stray; 20 "So I fled from you when I feared you. But my Lord has granted me Hukman (i.e. religious knowledge, right judgement of the affairs and Prophethood), and appointed me as one of the Messengers. 21 And this is the past favour wherewith thou reproachest me: that thou hast enslaved the Children of Israel. 22 Said Pharaoh: "And what [and who] is that 'Sustainer of all the worlds'?" 23 He said: Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatsoever is in-between, if ye seek to be convinced. 24 (Firon) said to those around him: Do you not hear? 25 Moses went on, "He is your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers." 26 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "Verily, your Messenger who has been sent to you is a madman!" 27 'He is the Lord of the East and the West' said he (Moses), 'and all that is between them, if you could understand' 28 Said Firaun, “If you ascribe any one else as a God other than me, I will surely imprison you.” 29 (Moses) said: "Even though I have brought to you something convincing?" 30 Said he, 'Bring it then, if thou art of the truthful.' 31 (No sooner had he said this than) Moses threw down his rod and behold, it was a veritable serpent, 32 And he drew forth his hand, thereupon it shone bright before the beholders. 33
