And recall what time thy Lord called unto Musa, saying: go thou unto the wrong-doing people. 10 The folk of Pharaoh. Will they not ward off (evil)? 11 'My Lord' he replied, 'I fear they will belie me 12 and my breast will be straitened, and my tongue will not be loosed; so send to Aaron. 13 And they have a charge (of murder) against me. So I fear that they will kill me." 14 He said, “Not like this (any more); both of you go with Our signs, We are with you, All Hearing.” 15 They came to the Pharaoh and said, "We are the Messengers of the Lord of the Universe. 16 Send the Israelites with us". 17 (The Pharaoh) said: "Did we not bring you up as a child? And you lived a number of years of your life with us. 18 And thou didst that thy deed which thou didst; and thou art of the ingrates. 19 (Moses) replied: "I did do that and I was in the wrong, 20 So I fled from you when I feared you. Then my Lord granted me wisdom and prophethood and appointed me [as one] of the messengers. 21 "And this is the favour with which thou dost reproach me,- that thou hast enslaved the Children of Israel!" 22 Pharaoh said: And what is the Lord of the Worlds? 23 (Moses) said: "The Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, if you can believe." 24 [Pharaoh] said to those around him, "Do you not hear?" 25 He said: Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers of old. 26 (Pharaoh) said: Lo! your messenger who hath been sent unto you is indeed a madman! 27 Moses continued, "He is the Lord of the East and West and all that is between them, if only you would think". 28 Pharaoh said, "If you put forward any god other than me, I will surely put you in prison". 29 He said: Even though I show thee something plain? 30 Pharaoh said: "Then bring it if you are truthful at all." 31 So he cast down his rod, and lo! it was an obvious serpent, 32 And he drew out his hand, and behold, it was white to all beholders! 33
