When Your Lord told Moses to go to the unjust people of the Pharaoh 10 The folk of Pharaoh. Will they not ward off (evil)? 11 He said, 'My Lord, I fear they will cry me lies, 12 "My breast will be straitened. And my speech may not go (smoothly): so send unto Aaron. 13 They have charged me [with a crime] for which I am afraid they will kill me." 14 He said: By no means, so go you both with Our signs; surely We are with you, hearing; 15 Go to Pharaoh, both of you, and say, 'We are messengers from the Lord of the Worlds: 16 (Saying): Let the Children of Israel go with us. 17 The Pharaoh said, "Did we not bring you up in our home as an infant and did you not live with us for many years 18 And thou didst that thy deed which thou didst; and thou art of the ingrates. 19 Moses replied: "I committed that act erringly. 20 I fled from you because I feared you. But my Lord has given me judgment and made me one of the Messengers. 21 And [as for] that favour of which thou so tauntingly remindest me - [was it not] due to thy having enslaved the children of Israel?" 22 Pharaoh said: "And who is this Lord of the Universe?" 23 He said: The Lord of the heavens and the earth and what is between them, if you would be sure. 24 'Do you not hear' said he (Pharaoh) to those around him. 25 (Moses) said: "Your Lord and the Lord of your fathers from the beginning!" 26 Said he, 'Surely your Messenger who was sent to you is possessed!' 27 [Moses] said, "Lord of the east and the west and that between them, if you were to reason." 28 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "If you choose an ilah (god) other than me, I will certainly put you among the prisoners." 29 Said he: "Even if I should bring about before thee something that clearly shows the truth?" 30 Pharaoh said, "Show it then, if you are telling the truth!" 31 So [Musa (Moses)] threw his stick, and behold, it was a serpent, manifest. 32 And he drew out his hand; thereupon it was white for the observers. 33
