(Pharaoh) said unto the chiefs about him: Lo! this is verily a knowing wizard, 34 He wants to expel you from your land through his magic. What is your opinion?" 35 They said: "Put him and his brother off awhile, and send summoners to the cities to gather 36 That they should bring to you every skillful magician. 37 So the magicians were gathered together at the appointed time on the fixed day, 38 and the people were asked, "Will you all be there?" 39 (They said): Aye, so that we may follow the wizards if they are the winners. 40 So when the sorcerers arrived, they said to Fir'aun (Pharaoh): "Will there surely be a reward for us if we are the winners?" 41 He said, "Yes, and indeed, you will then be of those near [to me]." 42 Moses said unto them: Throw what ye are going to throw! 43 So they cast down their ropes and staffs saying, "By the honor of the Pharaoh we shall certainly become the winners". 44 Then Moses threw down his staff, and it swallowed up all that they had conjured into being. 45 Thereupon the magicians fell down in prostration, 46 They said, “We have accepted faith in the Lord Of The Creation.” 47 “The Lord of Moosa and Haroon.” 48 [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] said: "You have believed in him before I give you leave. Surely, he indeed is your chief, who has taught you magic! So verily, you shall come to know. Verily, I will cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, and I will crucify you all." 49 They said: "There will be no harm. We shall return to our Lord. 50 Verily we long that our Lord shall forgive us our faults because we have been the first of the believers 51
