And recite to them the news of Abraham. 69 when he asked his father and his people: "What do you worship?" 70 They said: We worship idols, and are ever devoted unto them. 71 He said: "Do they hear you, when you call (on them)? 72 "Or do you good or harm?" 73 They replied: 'No, but we found our fathers doing so' 74 He said: "Have you considered what you have been worshipping, 75 You and your ancient sires. 76 are my enemies? Not so the Lord of the Universe. 77 Who hath created me, and He guideth me. 78 And He Who gives me to eat and gives me to drink: 79 “And when I fall ill, so it is He Who heals me.” 80 "And Who will cause me to die, and then will bring me to life (again); 81 And Who, I hope, will forgive me my mistakes on the day of judgment. 82 My Lord, give me judgment, and join me with the righteous. 83 And appoint for me an honourable mention among the posterity 84 And place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Pleasure. 85 and forgive my father, for he was among the astray. 86 And do not disgrace me on the Day they are [all] resurrected - 87 the Day when wealth and sons will be of no avail, 88 [and when] only he [will be happy] who comes before God with a heart free of evil!" 89 And Paradise shall be brought forward for the godfearing, 90 and Hell shall be revealed to the misguided, 91 they will be asked, "Where are those whom you worshipped 92 "Instead of Allah? Can they help you or (even) help themselves?" 93 Then they will be thrown headlong into Hell, both they and the misguided ones, 94 And the hosts of Iblis, together. 95 They will say while contending therein, 96 By Allah, we have indeed been in an error manifest. 97 when we made you equal with the Lord of the Universe. 98 Only the sinful ones made us go astray. 99 and now we have none to intercede on our behalf, 100 Nor a true friend; 101 Then if we only had a return [to the world] and could be of the believers... " 102 Verily there is a sign in this, but many of them do not believe. 103 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 104
