Alshu'araa' 9 of 11

The people of Lut belied the sent ones. 160 When their brother Lot said to them: 'Will you not be cautious? 161 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. 162 So fear Allah and obey me. 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 164 What! Of all creatures do ye come unto the males, 165 Leaving the consorts your Lord has made for you? But you are a people who exceed the bounds." 166 They said, “O Lut, if you do not desist, you will be expelled.” 167 He said: "I do detest your doings." 168 My Lord! deliver me and my followers from what they do. 169 So We saved him and his family, all, 170 except an old woman who remained behind. 171 then We totally destroyed the rest, 172 and We rained on them a rain; and evil is the rain of them that are warned. 173 Surely in this there is a sign: but most of them would not believe: 174 But, verily, thy Sustainer - He alone - is almighty, a dispenser of grace! 175
