The people of Lot denied the messengers 160 When their brother Lot said unto them: Will ye not ward off (evil)? 161 "I am to you a messenger worthy of all trust. 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage falls only upon the Lord of all Being. 164 What, do you come to the males of the world, 165 and leave your wives whom your Lord has created for you? You are a people who transgress all bounds." 166 They said, 'If thou givest not over, Lot, thou shalt assuredly be one of the expelled.' 167 He said, "I am disgusted with your works." 168 "My Lord, rescue me and my family from their deeds." 169 We saved him and all of his family 170 Except one old woman who remained behind. 171 Thereafter, We utterly destroyed the rest, 172 And We rained down upon them a rain, and evil was the rain on those warned. 173 Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 174 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
