The people of Lut denied the Noble Messengers. 160 when their brother Lot said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 161 I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 I do not ask any payment for my preaching. I shall receive my reward from the Lord of the Universe. 164 What, do you come to the males of the world, 165 Leaving the consorts your Lord has made for you? But you are a people who exceed the bounds." 166 They said: "If you cease not. O Lout (Lot)! Verily, you will be one of those who are driven out!" 167 He said: 'Truly, I am a detester of what you do' 168 My Lord! Save me and my household from what they do. 169 Thereupon We saved him and all his household 170 Except an old woman, among those who remained behind. 171 Then We utterly destroyed the others. 172 We rained down on them a shower (of brimstone): and evil was the shower on those who were admonished (but heeded not)! 173 Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 174 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 175
