The people of Lot rejected the Messengers. 160 When their brother Lut said unto them: fear ye not? 161 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 162 So fear God and listen to me. 163 I do not ask any payment for my preaching. I shall receive my reward from the Lord of the Universe. 164 "Of all the creatures in the world, will ye approach males, 165 And leave the wives your Lord created for you? Nay, but ye are froward folk. 166 'Lot' they replied, 'if you do not desist, you shall be thrown out' 167 He said: 'Truly, I am a detester of what you do' 168 (And prayed:) "O Lord, save me and my family from what they do." 169 So We delivered him and his family,- all 170 except for an old woman who stayed behind, 171 Then afterward We destroyed the others. 172 And We rained on them a rain. So ill was the rain on those warned? 173 Surely in this there is a sign: but most of them would not believe: 174 And verily thy Lord! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 175
